Downtown Sacramento Hotel Fire

Firefighters are securing the area, after a 3-alarm fire broke out at the Biltmore Hotel on 10th and J Streets overnight.

Two lanes of J Street were closed for much of the morning, snarling downtown traffic.

Crews say the fire started in the basement.  They were able to put out the flames, and now they’re concentrating on securing the hotel, and making sure the two adjacent buildings are also safe.

The hotel has been vacant for several years, and no one was inside when firefighters searched the premises.

At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown.

Tracy Bear Back in the Wild

The bear that has been spotted around Tracy this week is getting acclimated to her new surroundings.

According to the California Fish and Wildlife, she was released into a remote wooded area around 2 a.m., several hours away from town.

They say the bear was in good shape when she woke up from her “tranquil” nap.

Arden Arcade Area Shooting

Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a shooting that happened at an apartment complex on Howe Avenue.

Deputies responded to the scene around 1:30 a.m. and found a trail of blood leading into the complex. However, the say there wasn’t a victim or shooter in sight.

Authorities believe the shooting took place outside of the building, and the victim went looking for help.
