Boris Teksler has been named president of Technicolor’s technology group, which includes intellectual property & licensing and the company’s research & innovation activities. He also joins Technicolor’s executive committee. Teksler most recently spent four years at Apple as head of patent licensing & strategy. Prior to Apple, he spent 16 years at Hewlett-Packard, most recently as a co-founder of HP’s intellectual property licensing business.

Directors of photography: Mauricio Rubinstein has boarded Fox series Us & Them. Mark Doering-Powell has joined ABC series Super Fun Night. Rob Sweeney will serve as director of photography on ABC series Mind Games. Rohn Schmidt is shooting two episodes of Frank Darabont’s Lost Angels for TNT in July, before starting NBC series Chicago PD in August.
Production designer? Charlie Lagola has joined NBC’s Night Shift.
Editors: Nathan Gunn has joined NBC series The Blacklist.? Evan Henke has boarded Eastbound and Down for HBO. Don Brochu is cutting Building a Better Boy, a MOW for Disney.
Call For Speakers:
Speaking proposals are being accepted for the 2014 NAB Show, which is scheduled to take place April 5-10 in Las Vegas. The deadline is Oct. 18. NAB Show also seeks nominations for its program advisory group.
The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers has extended its call for technical papers for the SMPTE 2013 Technical Conference & Exhibition, scheduled for Oct. 22 – 24 in Hollywood. The new deadline is July 19.
