SACRAMENTO-
Sacramento Police say one of their patrol officers caught a copper thief red-handed Thursday evening along Belvedere Avenue.
Police found 42-year-old Sean Meyers behind a business along Belvedere by Florin-Perkins Road. Investigators say Meyers was in the middle of taking copper wire from a commercial refrigerator unit.
Officers say the business owner told them the fridge was a total loss, and damage to the property is estimated to be about $30,000.
Meyers was booked for vandalism and probation violation.
