SACRAMENTO-

Shaquille O’Neal has joined the Sacramento Kings ownership group, the team announced Monday morning.

O’Neal, a four-time NBA champion and 15-time league all-star, will be formally unveiled as part of the Kings organization at a news conference Tuesday.

Shaq famously derided the Kings during his time with the Lakers, when his team and Sacramento was one of the biggest rivalries in the NBA.

Currently, O’Neal is an NBA analyst for TNT.

Former Apple executive and fellow co-owner Andy Miller welcomed Shaq on board via Twitter, posting:

Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson was also happy to welcome O’Neal to the ownership team.

“He’s a winner.  He’s won at the championship level.  He’s obviously gonna’ have a great relationship and impact with DeMarcus Cousins,” Johnson said.
