Fox News heated up on Friday when Megyn Kelly went toe-to-toe with her colleagues Lou Dobbs and Erick Erickson over controversial remarks they made days earlier regarding women in the workplace and gender equality.
During an appearance on an all-male panel on Fox Business Network’s Lou Dobbs Tonight on Wednesday, Dobbs and Erickson weighed in on a recent Pew study that found women to be the primary breadwinner in 40 percent of households with children. Among their respective comments, Dobbs said, “We’re watching society dissolve around us,” while Erickson claimed, “When you look at biology, look at the natural world, the roles of a male and a female in society and in other animals, the male typically is the dominant one.”

Kelly’s retort? “What makes you dominant and me submissive, and who died and made you scientist in chief?”
The clip picked up steam hours after broadcast, with outlets including Gawker, Politico, The Huffington Post and many more posting video of the interview. Watch below.
After sparring for several minutes over whether Erickson and Dobbs’ comments were backed by science, judgmental or just plain offensive, Kelly offered her guests a brief history lesson, asking if they were aware that “in the ’50s and ’60s, there were huge, huge numbers of people who believed that the children of interracial marriages were inferior, were biologically inferior, and that is why it was illegal for some black and whites to marry in this country.”
“They said it was science, and it was fact,” she continued. “If you were the child of a black father and a white mother or vice versa, you were inferior and you were not set up for success. Tell that to Barack Obama.”
