TORONTO – Quebec writer-director Stéphane Lapointe’s latest film The Master of Suspense, starring Michel Côté, Robin Aubert and Antoine Bertrand, will shoot partly in Louisiana.
Lapointe’s The Master of Suspense, formerly Ghost(s), is shooting in Montreal until Oct. 13, before production shifts to Louisiana for a Dec. 6 to 18 shoot.

Item 7 is producing the theatrical comedy about a successful author (Côté) who uses a ghostwriter to write his novels and finds himself in Louisiana when the life of his surrogate writer falls apart and he must hire another writer.
The ensemble cast for The Master of Suspense includes Anne Casabonne, Denise Gagnon, Anna Hopkins and Maria de Medeiros.
Item 7’s Pierre Even and Marie-Claude Poulin are producing the Canadian theatrical comedy, which will be released in Quebec by Alliance Vivafilm.
The Master of Suspense is partly financed by provincial and federal tax credits in Canada, and tax breaks on offer in Louisiana.
