SACRAMENTO-

Along with announcing a new member of the ownership group, former Kings tormenter Shaquille O’Neal, big, some might even say Shaq-sized plans about the downtown ESC were released in Tuesday’s news conference.

“This has to be the iconic arena on the planet and when there are planes flying from San Francisco to New York, you’re going to be able to look down and say that’s the Kings arena in the plane and there`s something special happening down there,” said majority owner Vivek Ranadive.

First off, you won’t need a lick of cash to get in, just your smart phone.

“Imagine going to a game when you don`t have to have a ticket stub, you just pull your phone out and the lady clicks it and you get it,” said new Kings owner Shaquille O’Neal.

The facility planned for the Downtown Plaza, will also be able to take advantage of the Delta Breeze.

“It will be indoor/outdoor and you`ll have to wait and see the plans. There`s no such arena that`s ever been built. It will be the first basketball arena that has this indoor/outdoor feature to it and for concerts and other events, you can actually completely open it up and have 18,000 people inside and another 10,000 people outside,” said Ranadive.

It’s something even a man who played the Kings like a fiddle and a genie in “Kazaam” can get behind.

“Today is not about me, it`s about Sacramento. I`m telling you, when he unveils those new plans, when this thing starts getting built, you`ll see what I`m talking about. You will remember this day. Shaq was right,” O’Neal said.
