ROSEVILLE-

This Black Friday, the Westfield Galleria in Roseville opened earlier than ever before.

Doors opened at 5 p.m. on Thursday. Most stores welcomes customers at 6 p.m. Some businesses chose to wait until the morning.

Some shoppers told FOX40 their priority this Thanksgiving was deals, and the turkey came early.

“I ate thanksgiving in the morning so I could come today,” shopper Eric Jimenez said.

Lines formed outside the mall, before it opened. There was a mix of experienced deal seekers and first timers.

Troy Thiel hit the mall on Black Friday for the first time this year.

He got a tool box for his son.

“I saved myself about $150 bucks. It’s a pretty good deal, that’s why I came out on Black Friday for sure” said Thiel.

Thiel also used that toolbox as a seat as he waiting for his family to finish their shopping.

Galleria staff said opening the mall earlier than ever before may have actually helped control crowds during the Black Friday rush.

“So with more time they’re probably picking when they come. In fact, they could come now go home catch couple hour asleep and come back again!” marketing director Stephanie Ringey said.

The Galleria is open through 10 p.m. Friday. The hours vary from store to store.
