The Huntsman is hunting for a new director.
Frank Darabont has dropped out of The Huntsman, the sequel to 2012’s Snow White and the Huntsman, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Sources say a new director will likely be announced next week and that the project is moving forward. It is slated for an April 22, 2016, release.

Emily Blunt is circling a villain role. Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role as The Huntsman from the original, which also starred Kristen Stewart. Stewart is not returning for the sequel.
Sources say Darabont left the project over creative differences.
In 2011, he was famously fired from AMC’s The Walking Dead after clashing with the network. He sued AMC over profits he said he was owed for the show. In the features world, Darabont most recently directed 2007’s The Mist. He also directed The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile and The Majestic.
Snow White and the Huntsman earned more than $396.5 million worldwide.
