REDONDO BEACH-

Twelve people were hit by a car Wednesday outside a church in Redondo Beach, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It was not immediately known what led to the crash. Several people were said to have critical injuries. At least one person was killed in the crash.

The crash happened outside St. James Parish at Pacific Coast Highway and Vincent Street, where a Christmas program was letting out.

According to KTLA, the driver kept going through the intersection until she hit another car.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
