LINCOLN-

Two men are under arrest in connection to a robbery at the U.S. Bank on McBean Park Drive late Saturday Morning.

According to police, one man went into the bank and passed a teller a note that demanded money. The suspect did not mention having a weapon and did not show one.

After receiving the cash, the suspect took off on foot.

When officers were responding to the bank’s robbery alarm, a unit spotted a person who matched the suspect’s description running down 3rd Street, just one block away from the bank . The suspect was then seen getting into a car that was waiting.

Officers then pulled over that vehicle, and a backpack containing over $50,000 was found in  the car. That money was later confirmed that it was stolen from U.S. Bank .

19-year-old Mark Spier from South Sacramento, and 21-year-old Charles Cates from Placerville were then arrested for robbery and conspiracy.
