Signs are plastered on several rooms at the Inn by the station motel after a March 30th visit from Manteca City Officials. “It’s a little bit of work, you know, it’s an older building. and it’s a little bit of everything,” Kelle Lease, the Manager of the Inn by the Station explained.

The manager of the motel said her crew has been working tirelessly to clear those violations. “Yes, we can get it done, with what they want us to do in less than 30 days,” Lease said.

The Manteca Fire Marhsall told FOX40 a tenant called about the slew of violations in mid-March. This prompted city and San Joaquin County officials to act. They found plumbing, sewage, and heating problems.

“I’m currently in my truck,” John Alamar, a tenant claimed. At least one tenant claims he’s decided to rough it out.

“As far as I’ve seen, they have been putting in the effort. A little more would help,” Alamar said.

Motel management explained they’re making good strides but they may need more time. “It’s going to be some work but we can handle it,” Lease said.

The fire marshall added, they will revisit the motel by the end of the week to take a look at the current conditions.
