Metro Fire recently purchased a $40,000 potential life saver.

It’s called the “Fire Behavioral Observation Prop.”

The equipment looks like the combination of a large scale shipping container and a camper trailer with its multiple levels.

The internal fire simulates a “flash over,” an oxygen filled burst of fire fueled in real life by the opening of doors gives the fire more air as fuel.

The video above shows Eric Rucker try using the prop that is being utilized and how it’s a game changer in the way crews attack structure fires.
