MODESTO-

A tanker spill closed two southbound lanes of Highway 99 in Modesto Monday morning.

Fire officials say the tanker was carrying a whey product. Traffic was said to backed up from Kansas Avenue all the way to Briggsmore Avenue.

At least one lane and the Kansas Avenue on ramp would remain closed for crews to clean up the spill.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.
