Developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation more than 30 years ago and administered by the non-profit National Main Street Center of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Main Street Program has utilized a public private partnership of private investment, local government support, and local non-profit assistance to revitalize historic commercial districts.

CAMSA members include Arcata, Benicia, Coronado, Del Mar, downtown Stockton, Encinitas-Cardiff, Eureka, Fairfield, Folsom, Fremont, Gilroy, Grass Valley, Hanford, Hollister, Lakeport, Livermore, Martinez, Monterey, Oceanside, Paso Robles, Pleasanton, Redding, Richmond, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Ukiah, Vallejo and Vista, among others.

Main Street revitalization programs have been paramount to economic recovery for many communities nationwide.
