As if the appearance of J.J. Abrams wasn’t enough to get fans excited about next month’s Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, it has been announced that Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank have been added to the guest list for the four-day event.
As revealed on StarWars.com, the two directors — responsible for the first two standalone movies in the revitalized franchise, 2016’s Star Wars: Rogue One and an as-yet-untitled 2018 release — will join Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, vp development Kiri Heart and Pablo Hidalgo of the Star Wars story group for a conversation about “how the teams came together and are collaborating to conceive and create the upcoming stand-alone films in the galaxy far, far away.”
Celebration attendees also will get to see the cast and crew of the Disney XD series Star Wars: Rebels, accompanying a world-exclusive premiere of the first episode of the show’s second season (not due to air until Jan. 5, 2016). Additionally, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew and Billy Dee Williams are scheduled to make appearances.
Star Wars Celebration runs April 16-19 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
