Ahead of final numbers, Ferguson’s 1.7 rating marked the show’s highest local score since September 2012 — a 31 percent bump from the previous week. It was also up a tick from his 2005 debut as host. Ferguson’s replacement, James Corden, won’t assume the post until March.
In primetime, original offerings were slim. NBC aired Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon to the tune of a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49 — while Dateline held even with a 1.3 rating.
20/20, off three-tenths of a point without an original lead-in, averaged a 1.1 rating in the key demo for ABC. And on CBS, a steady Amazing Race netted a 1.3 among adults under 50.
