BERWICK, Pennsylvania (WNEP)-

Just days before the big game on Sunday, and GoDaddy decided to pull a 30-second commercial from airing during the Super Bowl. The decision came after an online petition asked the online domain name company to remove the ad, featuring a cute puppy and a farm setting.

A Pennsylvania woman saw the ad online this week, and did not have the emotional response GoDaddy was probably hoping for.

“My first reaction was sad. Then I was really angry and I had to do something,” Helena Yurcho told WNEP.

She said she loves animals, which is why the line toward the end of the commercial, indicating the puppy was sold online, upset her.

So Yurcho created a petition online to remove the ad. In a matter of hours, the animal rescue volunteer had more than 42,000 signatures. More importantly,  Go Daddy’s CEO had announced they pulled the ad.

“I did not expect them to pull the ad,” Yurcho said. “I was really hopeful, but I was realistic. This whole thing is completely mind blowing.”

She hopes the media attention around this ad, and its removal from Sunday’s big game, will start a conversation about selling animals online.
