The driver of the BMW led police on a chase for about 30 minutes at speeds up to 120 mph.

The chase went through the Natomas area, then back around to South Sacramento.

According police, the handguns were thrown out of the car on Highway 99 near the 12th Avenue exit.

Then around 12th Avenue and Franklin Boulevard, the driver turned their lights off and police lost sight of the vehicle.

Police later found the car abandoned on 24th Avenue and Atlas Avenue.

Investigators are now examining the car for evidence.

At this time, it’s unknown how many people were in the vehicle.
