ELK GROVE-

One child in Sacramento County may have the measles. It is not a confirmed case, and test results will be finished on Monday afternoon.

According to Sutter Medical Group Elk Grove Pediatrics, a patient went into their office with a possible case of measles on Wednesday January 14th.

Sutter Medical Group says if people at the pediatrics center were exposed to the measles, exposure was minimal. They have teamed up with the Sacramento County Public Health Department to further determine whether this is in fact a confirmed measles case.

FOX40 also reached out to the State Department of Public Health, who said they had not been made aware of the possible case. They are notified of confirmed cases.

If your child received an MMR vaccine then the risk of contracting Measles is significantly low.
