ROSEVILLE-

Many consumers are in a mad rush to buy the largest and sharpest televisions before the Big Game.

“It seems like there’s a run on them right now,” said Sam Garland, who was shopping for a TV on Saturday.

Garland and his wife initially tried to buy a television online, but after a few clicks, they realized that’s hard to do this time of year.

“It says ‘sold out online go to the store.’ Well we called a couple of stores and most of them are sold out too,” Garland told FOX40.

The Best Buy in Roseville said many other people have been coming into the store for the same reason this week.

“(This is the busiest time for TV sales) more so than holiday season because you know the Big Game. Everyone wants the latest and greatest for their televisions,” said Kimo Strohecker, the Home Theater Supervisor at the Roseville Best Buy.

A survey put out by fatwallet.com shows about 17 percent of consumers will buy a new television set during Big Game themed sales events this year.

Strohecker said the 4K UltraHD TVs are the hottest sellers.
