ROCKLIN-

Tests for a possible measles case in Placer County have come back negative.

The potential case was at the Harvest Ridge Cooperative Charter School in Rocklin.

So far in 2015, Placer County has had no confirmed cases of the measles. The County Department of Public Health said Friday that officials are on “high alert” for measles.

“Although parents have the right to refuse the vaccination, it is in the best interest of all of our students that we look at the proven ways we can prevent the spread of a highly contagious virus,” Placer County Superintendent of Schools Gayle Garbolino-Mojica wrote.
