SACRAMENTO —

Two more decapitated goats were found this afternoon in Downtown Sacramento.

According to City Animal Care Services Director Gina Knepp, the two beheaded baby goats were found just before 4 p.m. on V and 19th Streets.

Today’s findings were made just one day after six decapitated goats were discovered near a bike trail in northern Sacramento.

This gruesome discovery is the latest in a series of horrific animal slayings over the past two months.

First: Jan. 8 – a dead goat inside a cardboard box.

Second: Jan. 28 – headless chickens inside a bag between the tennis courts.

Third: Feb. 1 – a dead tortoise in a brown paper bag near a tree.

Fourth: Feb. 17 – a small beheaded sheep in a bag at Reichmuth Park.

Fifth: Feb. 26 – the six beheaded goats near the bike trail.

Investigators are looking into a possible connection between each incident.
