Sacramento’s Farm-to-Fork celebration set for September 10-27

Foodies and agricultural-enthusiasts are clearing their calendars for September, as America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital announces the dates for the 2015 Farm-to-Fork Celebration. The ultimate in fresh-food festivities will span Sept. 10-Sept. 27, promising even more delicious events and activities throughout the Sacramento region than ever before.

During the celebration, attendees can get their fill exploring a host of events, ranging from farm tours to street fairs to countless farm-to-fork meals. Prospective vendors looking to be a part of the popular Farm-to-Fork Festival can apply here. The 2014 Festival attracted more than 30,000 people, and the event organizers expect that all of the celebration events will continue to expand.

“The Farm-to-Fork Celebration offers the biggest and best selection of food events in the country,” said Mike Testa, chief operating officer of the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau. “The Sacramento region is at the epicenter of fresh-food, and there’s no better time to experience the amazing culinary and agricultural bounty that we have to offer.”

New events are being added to the celebration’s lineup on an ongoing basis, and the complete schedule can be found at farmtofork.com. Below is just a sample of the event offerings, which include:

Farm-to-Fork Restaurant Weeks presented by Lexus (Sept. 10-Sept. 27) – Farm-to-Fork Restaurant Weeks presented by Lexus are a celebration of the region’s premiere dining destinations, in addition to the bounty of seasonal ingredients found in the area.

The two-week event will showcase the Sacramento region as the culinary powerhouse that it is, with area restaurants hosting special events, menus and opportunities to meet the farmers, winemakers and brewers who make Sacramento America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital. Farm-to-Fork Legends of Wine presented by Lexus (Sept. 17) – Oenophiles will have the unique opportunity to sample and discover more about some of the region’s most celebrated wines, as selected by two of Sacramento’s internationally recognized culinary powerhouses – Darrell Corti and David Berkley. Set against California’s majestic State Capitol, guests will sip a wide array of award-winning varietals paired and presented with artisan cheeses and more local delights. Farm-to-Fork Festival (Sept. 26) – Designed to demonstrate where our food and drinks come from, the Farm-to-Fork Festival has proven to be one of the region’s most popular events. The free faire hosted on the city’s iconic Capitol Mall boasts an exciting selection of farm-to-fork offerings that are produced and available in the Sacramento region.

Attendees will find food, wine and beer from regional eateries and purveyors, as well as live music, cooking demonstrations, a kids’ zone, interactive booths from local grocers, farms and ranches and more. Farm-to-Fork Gala (Sept. 27) – The Gala serves as the Farm-to-Fork Celebration’s finale, with hundreds of diners enjoying a locally sourced meal at an iconic Sacramento location. Guests at the family-style dinner will be treated to a seasonal feast prepared by more than 30 top area chefs. Continually one of Sacramento’s most sought-after tickets, proceeds from the dinner go directly to fund the free Farm-to-Fork Festival.
