Jennifer Lawrence made her Billboard Hot 100 debut three weeks ago, via her feature spot on James Newton Howard’s Hunger Games song “The Hanging Tree.”
Because the Internet, that minimal folk sing-a-long has gotten its dance remix, via Mike Gazzo.
Stick it to the Capitol and give it a listen:
“The Hanging Tree” was written by Suzanne Collins (author of The Hunger Games book series) and The Lumineers’ Jeremiah Fraites and Wesley Schultz. The song is heard in the film first as an a cappella performance by Lawrence (in character as Katniss Everdeen), before she is joined by a choir and an orchestra.
The song, released on Republic Records, debuted on the Hot 100 at No. 12 three weeks ago and since charted at 15 and 23.
