A car accident on Sunset Avenue and Sun Run Lane left one person dead early Tuesday morning.
The accident sparked a vegetation fire that was quickly extinguished, according to firefighters.
Investigators suspect the driver lost control and drove off the road, down an embankment and crashed into a tree.
“We searched the area for possible other victims and didn’t find any, and right now we’re just in recovery mode,” Sacramento Metro Battalion Chief Patrick Ellis said.
The name of the victim has not been released.
