So who exactly is Marcelo Marquez? When the suspect was arrested and taken in to the hospital on Friday, he told investigators he was a 34-year-old Marcelo Marquez from Salt Lake City.
But then, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office in Arizona found an old booking photo from 1996, and the thumbprint of that man, listed as Luis Enrique Monroy Brocamonte, matched Sacramento’s suspect. Brocamonte has been deported from the US twice and was in Sacramento without legal documentation.
FOX40 has requested a jailhouse interview with both suspects, but were denied. Both of them will face court on Tuesday, for the first time since the shooting.
