ABC’s Scandal will put its spotlight on Cyrus (Jeff Perry) during Thursday’s flashback episode in which Gladiators will finally meet his ex-wife.
Shameless troublemaker Emily Bergl has been tapped to play the former Mrs. Beene, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Bergl will guest star as Janet, Cy’s wife, during the “Put a Ring on It” episode that will also feature the return of his late husband, James (Dan Bucatinsky).

“We’re going to learn about moments in James and Cyrus’ life that we’ve never explored before, and we’re going to throw a bit of a light on something that haunts Cyrus,” Perry told THR about the episode.
The hour will feature the Gladiators going into damage control after prostitute Cy’s fiancé, Michael (Matthew Del Negro), gets himself in trouble and puts pressure on Cyrus to move up their wedding.
Bergl, meanwhile, becomes the latest addition to Scandal‘s extended family. True Blood alum Lauren Bowles will guest star as Harmony, Mellie’s (Bellamy Young), sister in the April 2 installment, while Jasika Nicole has been recurring this season as Huck’s estranged wife.
Bergl is currently turning the Gallagher family upside down on Showtime’s Shameless, where she plays Frank’s other daughter. She’s repped by Innovative Artists and Thruline Entertainment.
