Two adults are recovering from severe stab wounds after allegedly being assaulted by a neighbor Tuesday morning.
Sacramento Police said around 8:30 a.m., a teenager walked over to his neighbor’s home on the 2500 block of 38th Avenue, asked for a glass of water, and suddenly began stabbing the man who opened the door. He then stabbed his wife several times.
George Garcia is a neighbor. He ran outside, after hearing his neighbor scream for his life.
“He came out from the house, he sat down and was screaming, ‘Help me! Help me! I’m dying!'” Garcia said. “Blood, blood, blood. And his wife came out too, and he stabbed her here… this side, neck.”
Garcia said the teenager then fled the scene on a bike.
He said he was about to jump into the car to chase down the suspect, but noticed the teen ran inside a neighboring home.
The teen had barricaded himself inside his own home on the 2500 block of 37th Street.
Police arrived in minutes.
The victims were taken to the hospital.
Negotiators came out with their bullhorns and instructed the suspect to come out.
At about 10 a.m., the teen walked out of his home, and was apprehended by officers without incident.
Investigators said the suspect did not have a motive, but admitted to police this was a random incident.
Fox 40 is told the couple suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The teen has been booked for attempted homicide.
