Sacramento City Council Lifts Natomas Building Moratorium

NATOMAS —

The City of Sacramento received a long-awaited letter from the Federal Emergency Management Agency on Tuesday, ending a building moratorium.

This means construction can resume in Natomas for the first time in six years due to progress on nearby levee repairs.

The city will be accepting building permit applications for Natomas beginning Wednesday of this week. Those permits will be issued beginning June 16.

The Sacramento City Council on Tuesday approved a yearly construction limit of 1,500 new homes and 500 apartment-type units in Natomas, with no yearly limit on commercial and remodeling projects.
