A Friday morning traffic stop led to the arrests of three people suspected of burglarizing an Elk Grove retailer.
Richard McCormack.

According to Elk Grove Police reports, a car being driven by Richard McCormack of Elverta was stopped near Elk Grove-Florin Road and Lismore Drive for a vehicle code violation. A records check of one of the two passengers in car, 28-year old Matthew Myers, revealed he had three active felony warrants for his arrest. McCormack, and another passenger in the car, 22-year old Emily Stanley of Elverta, were also found to be on probation.

The trio was detained and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of burglary tools and property stolen from the nearby Sports Shop on Union Parkway. Myers was also found to be in possession of cash stolen from the business.

The three suspects were arrested and taken into custody. McCormack and Meyers remain in custody ineligible for bail while Stanley has been released.
