DIXON-
Dixon Police are investigating the killing of 17-year-old Charlie Moore at Northwest Park.
“Can’t really describe it. Just horrible,” Zach Briggs said.
Briggs says he saw the other group of kids show up, and as the situation became hostile between his friends and them, he saw the 16-year-old murder suspect pull the gun that would kill Charlie.
Briggs told FOX40 the argument was over nothing.
Police say the shooting has rocked the neighborhood.
“This incident has shocked us to the core,” Police Chief Jon Cox said. “Our citizens, especially our youth here, are just reeling from this.”
This was the city’s first homicide in seven years.
The teen suspected in the shooting was arrested shortly after the Moore’s death.
