If you thought Frozen fever was thawing out anytime soon, it’s quite the opposite. The drop in temperature around the country has only heated up the year-old movie — as evidenced by the latest cover of the Disney megahit “Let It Go.”
Frozen belter Idina Menzel crashed CMA Country Christmas — which was recorded on Nov. 7 and aired Monday night on ABC — and sang “Let It Go” with the night’s host, Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles.

While Nettles started out with a bit of “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”, Menzel knew what the crowd really wanted to hear. Not everyone can hit the epic high notes, but Nettles stood toe-to-toe with Menzel for the soaring song.
Broadway superstar Menzel had more than just Frozen songs under her belt. Earlier in the broadcast, she performed “White Christmas” in a fitted long-sleeved ivory gown, and then returned surrounded by a group of children to sing “Do You Hear What I Hear?”
And she wasn’t the night’s only special guest: Carrie Underwood was joined by Christian singer Michael W. Smith for a powerful duet, and her CMA Awards co-host, Brad Paisley, rocked out with Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler. The night’s other performers included LeAnn Rimes, Hunter Hayes, Little Big Town, Alan Jackson and many more.
