SACRAMENTO-

Police in Sacramento say a pair of burglars have been breaking into homes while disguised as utility workers.

The scam, investigators say, begins with a knock on the front door. The burglars will tell the homeowner that they need to get into the back yard to do work on a water or sewer line.

They then go through an unlocked back door, steal property then flee in a white work truck.

Both men are described as white or Hispanic. One is 5 feet 2 inches with a medium build. The other is 6 feet tall and heavyset. Both are wearing orange vests and hard hats.

Anyone with information about this scam is asked to contact Sacramento Police at (916) 264-5471.
