NBC continued to get ahead of the pilot season pack, adding a pair of multicamera comedies from established producers.
The network has handed out pickups to People Are Talking and Take It From Us, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

People Are Talking, which had a script commitment attached, hails from writer DJ Nash (Growing Up Fisher) and executive producer Will Packer (Ride Along). The comedy examines sex, race and everything else your parents told you never to talk about.
From Universal Television and Will Packer Prods., Nash will pen the script and exec produce alongside Packer and his head of television Korin Huggins. The comedy was one of multiple sales Packer had this past development season — including a remake of Uncle Buck — and stems from his overall deal with the studio. People Are Talking also reunites NBC with Nash, whose credits include network comedies Growing Up Fisher, Guys With Kids, Up All Night and Bent, among others.

Take It From Us, meanwhile, landed at the network in October with a script-plus-penalty commitment. Written by Friends alum Greg Malins and Barry Schwartz (Your Family or Mine), the comedy centers on a couple who tells their son the lessons they learned growing up in the ’90s in the hopes that he avoids making the same mistakes.
Malins and Schwartz will pen the script and executive produce the comedy alongside 3 Arts’ Michael Rotenberg and Jonathan Berry. The comedy hails from Sony Pictures Television, where Malins is under an overall deal.
Take It From Us marks Malins’ latest half-hour entry. He’s also co-created TBS’ Ground Floor and has the network’s upcoming comedy Your Family or Mine on tap.
Tuesday’s pickups brings the number of NBC’s comedies in the works for next season to seven. Thus far, NBC has focused on broad-skewing family and workplace comedies including How We Live, Go Jerrod Go, Superstore and its Untitled Suzanne Martin entry. Four of NBC’s seven comedies are multicamera as the network prepares to make a big push for the format on Tuesdays with comedies One Big Happy and Undateable.
