A Rancho Cordova man was arrested early Monday morning after he caused injury to his passenger after he was allegedly drunk driving.  

According to Elk Grove Police, 21-year old Andre Blaine Morton of Rancho Cordova was operating a motor vehicle that reportedly struck a fixed object near Peets Street and Vaux Avenue. Upon contact, Morton allegedly displayed objective signs of impairment and performed poorly on a field sobriety tests.

A passenger in Morton's vehicle was injured and taken to an area hospital for medical treatment. After being medically cleared, Morton was arrested and booked into the county jail where he remains in custody on a $50,000 bail for felony charges of impaired driving causing injury and a misdemeanor charge of driving with a suspended license.
