A New Generation of Sandwiches

AMERICANS EAT AN ESTIMATED 300 million sandwiches every day—on average, about one a day for every person. The Quintessential Grilled Cheese sandwich at Serendipity 3 in New York goes for—get this—$214. It starts off with bread buttered with a white truffle spread. Inside are layers of rare Caciocavallo Podolico cheese with lobster.
