Netflix‘s upcoming Marvel series A.K.A. Jessica Jones has found a best friend for its title character.
Grey’s Anatomy and Crisis alum Rachael Taylor has joined the cast of the superhero series, Marvel announced Thursday.
The comic book drama is one of four shows centering on Marvel heroes that Netflix has picked up straight to series. The streaming service has committed to a minimum of four 13-episode series, which will begin rolling out in 2015, first with Daredevil, followed by Jessica Jones.
Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 alum Krysten Ritter will star as the title character, who, after a tragic ending to her short-lived superhero stint, is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York.

Taylor will play Trish Walker, Jessica’s best friend, who works as a syndicated radio-talk-show host and is a former model and child TV star known to her adoring fans as “Patsy” Walker. As Jessica’s closest friend, Trish helps her embark on the most dangerous case of Jessica’s career.
The character of Patricia Walker goes back to 1944, when she first appeared in Miss America Magazine Vol. 1 #2. In the comics, Walker donned the superhero identity of Hellcat in 1976.
She joins a cast that also includes former Doctor Who and Broadchurch star David Tennant, who is set as villain Killgrave, and The Good Wife‘s Mike Colter, who will play Luke Cage. Twilight‘s Melissa Rosenberg will oversee Jessica Jones.
For Taylor, the role marks her latest small-screen foray following NBC’s short-lived Crisis and ABC’s 666 Park Avenue and Charlie’s Angels. She’s repped by WME and Management 360.
