FAIRFIELD-

Fairfield Police are investigating the shooting death of a 19-year-old man Wednesday.

Police say a gunshot victim, identified as Fairfield resident Aaron Malave, was driven to the NorthBay Medical Center shortly after 11 p.m. He had been pronounced dead before officers could arrive.

Malave was driven to the hospital by a juvenile female and adult male. Police say both have been identified and are considered witnesses to the shooting.

About eight minutes before Malave’s arrival at the hospital, the Fairfield Police Department received reports of gunshots heard near the 1000 block of Wood Hollow Circle.

Police arrived at the area and found evidence related to the shooting investigation. Detectives then authored and executed a search warrant at a home in the area. Based on the findings, police believe Malave was shot in the street in the area.

Six adults and one juvenile associated with the home were contacted by police. Two adults, 24-year-old Blake Johnson and 20-year-old Michael Behnamia, were detained by police. Both have previously been involved in criminal activity.

So far no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.

Investigators are asking anyone who knows anything about the shooting to call them at (707) 428-7600 or (707) 428-7345.
