Sarah Chalke is staying in business with Fox.
The actress, currently recurring on rookie drama Backstrom, will star in the network’s comedy pilot 48 Hours ‘Til Monday, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The single-camera comedy from The Mindy Project‘s Charlie Grandy centers on one husband’s desperate struggle to not let every weekend go completely to hell.

Chalke will play Kelly Bishop, happily married to Charlie (Rob Riggle) and the mother of their three kids: Elizabeth, George and Mac. A strong, excitable beauty, Kelly quit her job as a local TV news producer to spend more time with her family … and is finding that being a stay-at-home mom is much more exhausting, time-consuming and frustrating than working in an office.
The role marks Chalke’s latest comedy foray following Scrubs, How to Live With Your Parents and How I Met Your Mother. She joins a cast that also includes Jane Curtin as Louise, Kelly’s wry and fun mom; and Once Upon a Time‘s Merrin Dungey as Candace, Kelly’s rival-turned-friend.
Grandy will pen the script for the Universal Television single-camera pilot and exec produce alongside Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplan via their TBD Productions.
Chalke is repped by UTA, manager John Carrabino and attorney PJ Shapiro.
