Welcome to Sacramento, where the perpetually hungry are never bored. This week, we decided to round up the most delicious bits of news around town:
Jersey Mike’s Plans to Expand
Jersey Mike’s opened its first Sacramento location about two weeks ago, and is already making plans to add more. Look out for five to six more locations in the region in 2016 – locations already locked-in include the Rocklin Commons shopping center and Folsom’s Commonwealth Square at East Bidwell Street and Wales Drive.
In the meantime, you can get your sub at 2912 Fulton Ave. in the Town & Country Village shopping center.
Dunkin’ Donuts Comes to Town
Dunkin Donutsopened itsfirst storein the Sacramento region on October 6th. We’ve heard people lined up well before the store opened its doors at 5 am, and one man waited for more than three hours to get his donut. (Meanwhile in New England, a pedestrian walks past the fourth Dunkin Donuts in a half-mile radius.)
Get your coffee and donut on at 5010 Foothills Blvd.
Sac Foodies Tip: For a sweet, refreshing treat, try the French Vanilla Coolatta.
Coffee Roasting and Beer Brewing Together at Last
Midtown Sacramento could soon house its mostexciting beverage conceptyet – a combination of coffee roaster and craft microbrewery. An application has been submitted to the city for establishingBig Stump Brewing Co. at 1716 L Street, in a building owned by the operators of the neighboring Old Soul Co. coffee operation. The project narrative suggests Big Stump visitors might be able to walk through to the roastery.
It’s slated to open in the first quarter of 2016.
With all this great food action, is it any surprise that Sacramento is considered the “secretly cool” city?
