BlackBerry Venice Android back side

Late last evening, infamous leaker @evleaks came out of retirement to post a few promo images of the Android-powered BlackBerry Venice. The leaked images gave us a really good look at the device, with one image angled toward the bottom exposing the slide-out keyboard, and a few others showing off some of the software features.

Seems @evleaks isn’t done with the device yet, posting an animated GIF of the phone, in what appears to be a snippet take from an upcoming ad spot. In the GIF, we can see the Venice will come equipped with a 14?MP camera featuring OIS and “fast focus.” The video then pans to the sides of the phone, briefly revealing the back. At the end, we see the sliding keyboard mechanism in action, with the phone closing shut and…. fade to black.

We know not everyone is excited about a new challenger pushing their way into an already crowded market, but with HTC and Motorola seemingly up against the ropes, BlackBerry might be what we need to help keep Apple and Samsung on their toes. And perhaps it’s just nostalgia, but we have to admit the phone certainly looks interesting. What do you think?
