So what are the most popular wine posts on my wine page? I decide to take a look. It was so interesting; I decided to share what I found. I do realize that my readers choice list will change from time to time. For now, here is a snapshot of the wines that people most often search for and read about when they come to my humble blog.
Readers Choice – Wines
Reds
Boeger Winery Barbera
Boeger Winery is a winery I’ve known and loved for a very long time. The wine is just as incredible as the location of their tasting room and vineyards. One of the many wines I enjoy is their Barbera.
Mark West Pinot Noir
At a scrumptious dinner out with my husband, the server recommended a Mark West Pinot Noir with our entrees and boy was she right. It was an excellent choice. I went looking for this wine the next day and, to my delight, found it to be well priced, and available at many locations.
BV Coastal Estates Cabernet Sauvignon
Beaulieu Vineyard, the producer of BV Coastal, has been producing wine in the beautiful Napa Valley Region since 1904. They have a heritage of growing grapes in some of the best locations in Napa Valley. Know wonder this wine is such a popular choice.
Whites
Sebastiani Wines Chardonnay
This Chardonnay from Sebastiani Winery is well worth seeking out. We enjoyed this Chardonnay with a three-course cheese plate, honey, and lightly salted dry-roasted almonds. With much laughter and conversation, we found this wine to be great fun wine on any occasion.
Dutton Goldfield Chardonnay
Dutton-Goldfield Winery was a fun vintner to research. It all began in 1998 with a handshake and a shared passion for wine between Steve Dutton and Dan Goldfield. Steve was a fifth generation farmer from the Russian River Wine Region with a love of all things farming, in particular, wine grapes. It’s a wonderful wine choice all around.
Santa Margheritta Pinot Grigio
It’s funny how we overlook something we’ve enjoyed for many years. When I was sitting on my patio with my glass of wine, I thought how I had always had a bottle of this wine on hand for just this kind of occasion. It’s a wine that goes with any occasion or for any reason.
Sparkling
Risata Moscato d’Asti
Risata Moscato d’Asti is a delightful and refreshing sparkling wine. When the weather starts to warm, I look for a sparkling wine with a bit of effervescence. Generally speaking, I’m not a sweet wine drinker, but I do like this Moscato on occasion, especially with a casual meal or after working in my garden on a hot day.
Ruffino Prosecco
I’m always a sucker for sparkling wines. Ruffino Prosecco is especially charming and a must to try. When you find this wine, buy a couple of bottles. It’s that good. If you ever wondered what to serve with a special meal, this is something fun and a bit different.
Domaine ste Michelle Brut
I did a taste test of various inexpensive sparkling wines, and one happened to be this Domaine ste Michelle Brut. All I can say is yum. For the price, this sparkling wine from Chateau ste Michelle is a wonderful wine for any special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, or holiday.
Desserts/Ports
IPSUS Pantelleria Passito
If you enjoy a good dessert wine, IPSUS Pantelleria Passito is a great choice. I especially like it when I need a bit of sweet without much fuss. I came upon this inexpensive and fun dessert wine in Trader Joe’s a long while ago and I’ve been enjoying it ever since.
Saint James Spirits Raspberry Wine
I found this raspberry dessert wine at Trader Joe’s by accident, and it was love at first sip. This wine is all about raspberries. It’s a very sweet dessert wine, but not as cloyingly sweet as you would expect. Instead, it’s more of a fresh raspberry sweetness. It’s a delightful taste overall.
Smith Woodhouse LBV Port
This Smith Woodhouse LBV Port was a bit of a surprise. As a ruby port, it’s not something I would usually try. I had the occasion to spend a delightful evening with friends in Yountville, California at the Ad Hoc Restaurant. We chose to add the wine course to our selection. This dessert wine accompanied our decadent chocolate delight. We loved it so much that it’s now on our go-to list.
