Reading Program in Oakland, California

Support my charity

The Kindle Classroom Project promotes the love and power of reading among young people in Oakland.

Founded in 2011 by Mark Isero, the KCP now serves 2,500 students and 55 teachers in 10 schools.

Thanks to generous donors from across the country, students receive a Kindle and access to an on-demand, unlimited library — 24 hours a day, all year round.

The program believes that independent reading builds hearts and minds. Young people choose books that match their interests. Every book in the Kindle Library originates as a student request.
