Two suspected shoplifters were apprehended by police officers yesterday afternoon after they fled an Elk Grove retailer.

According to Elk Grove Police, two male suspects were observed shoplifting merchandise at the Burlington Coat Factory on East Stockton Boulevard. Both suspects passed all points of purchase when they were approached by a loss prevention employee.

When the employee attempted to stop the suspects, one of the suspects pushed the employee out of the way and refused to comply with his instructions. Both suspects fled the location and were located and detained a short distance away by responding officers.

The store employee positively identified a 15-year old male and 18-year old Jequwon Walker of Sacramento as the suspects. The 15-year old suspect was transferred to juvenile hall and Walker was booked into the county jail where he is being held on a $50,000 bail for felony robbery and conspiracy charges as well as contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
