SACRAMENTO —

Local residents say a bad stench and high foot traffic in one Antelope neighborhood prompted them to contact Sacramento County Sheriff’s department authorities.

After serving a search warrant Monday, investigators say they seized $4.5 million worth of marijuana Monday, including 950 plants and 200 pounds of processed marijuana.

“We didn’t realize this was happening when we first moved in,” Melissa Falcy told FOX40 Tuesday, adding that she and her husband just bought a home near the three locations seized along Angus Way and 28th street in Antelope.

“We looked on Google earth,” neighbor Falcy told FOX40. “We could see the grows.”

In total, six people were arrested. McMahony, Koy, Chan and Ou Saetern in addition to Steven Santana and Daniel Espinosa.

All six are facing drug charges, however, the four Saeterns have also been charged with animal cruelty for alleged bird-fighting. Investigators say 100 roosters were removed from the property and are currently in the care of Sacramento County Animal Control.

Additionally, McMahony Saetern was cited by the Department of Fish & Wildlife for allegedly taking water from a nearby creek.
