A new radio drama, written by and starring former Dynasty star Emma Samms, is to be broadcast on BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

The play, called Visitors, also features the voices of comedian and impressionist Jon Culshaw and actress Lisa Maxwell, alongside local actors.

It will be broadcast in five episodes next week on Claire Carter's show, beginning on Monday.

Emma Samms, who lives in the county, has also directed the play.

She said: "I was in the middle of a live interview with Radio Gloucestershire's Claire Carter and happened to mention how much I enjoy writing and directing.

"The next thing I knew she'd emailed me to suggest we do a drama together.

"And it's been the most exciting, creative and educational experience I've had in a long time.

"I really hope everyone enjoys it."

The drama tells the story of Alice Jenner, who goes missing, and the secrets of her hidden life are slowly revealed as her disappearance is investigated.

Mark Hurrell, editor BBC Radio Gloucestershire, said: "I'm really proud of what the team have achieved.

"It's local radio at its creative best where the germ of an idea has been developed into five riveting episodes.

"I'm sure our audience will enjoy listening to the drama unfold.

"I also have to thank all the players and the team who have given up their time for free, it's very much appreciated."

Emma played Fallon Carrington Colby on the US soap.

Visitors can be heard on BBC Radio Gloucestershire, beginning on Monday 7 September at 12:30 BST, and will be available on the BBC iPlayer for 30 days afterwards.
