Today, the U. S House of Representatives voted on several votes on budget matters, that ultimately passed along party line.

In a statement he issued this afternoon, Congressman Dr. Ami Bera (D - Elk Grove) noted the importance of passing a budget that addresses concerns from both party's Speciifcially he said it is in his assessment the budget needs to national debt and wasteful spencing while ensuring the solvency of Social Security and Medicare.

"Unfortunately, none of the proposals we voted on today accomplished that goal, but were instead one-sided, political exercises that I could not support" Bera said. 

Bera. a second term Congressman representing California's Seventh Congressional District, which includes all of Elk Grove, said he he was hopeful that the budget could be passed.

"I remain optimistic that we can come together to solve this country's pressing challenges and will continue to fight for the pragmatic, responsible solutions that Sacramento County families deserve,” he said.
