OROVILLE —

Butte County Sheriffs were able to arrest a man who had barricaded himself inside a home today.

Around 8:55 a.m., sheriffs received work from a woman saying her friend was in danger at a home on Foothill Blvd. She also said there was a man in the house threatening to kill them both.

Once deputies arrived at the scene, they found the subject had barricaded himself inside the home and was unwilling to cooperate with attempts to make contact.

Eventually, the Butte County Sheriff’s SWAT team was able to enter the home and take the female victim to safety.

The subject, 42-year-old Steven Dalton, was arrested and charged with making criminal threats and false imprisonment to avoid arrest.

Dalton also had a felony warrant for a parole violation.

No weapons were found at the home, and no injuries were reported.
