WILLIAMSBURG, NY (PIX11)—
Police in Brooklyn are looking for a violent suspect who they say attacked a woman, and tried to rape her inside of a Brooklyn building Wednesday night.
The victim, 36, was walking into her apartment complex just before midnight, when a man walked in behind her and followed her up to her third floor apartment. According to the New York Daily News, the man told the woman “I’m not going to play games with you” before punching her in the face several times.
Police say the man, who appeared to be drunk, then tore down her pants and tried to rape her, but ran away when the victim’s teenage son heard his mother’s screams and confronted him. Her son, who plays football at his high school, chased the man down the stairs and out of the building.
The suspect is described as a 25- to 35-year-old black male, who weighs roughly 180 pounds; he was last seen wearing a blue jacket with “Lincoln St. Mary’s Council 112″ in yellow lettering.
Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous police tip line Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
